Keith Hates Keith (Nobody Cares)

Keith sits at his dining table as he scrolls through his limited phone book looking for someone to talk to. The thought of “nobodies cares” repeatedly plays in Keith’s head before he screams, throws his phone and buries his face until his hands. At that moment Keith feels a hand on his shoulder, and the thought that was playing on repeat is now coming from behind him.

Keith: *Face still in hands* Get off me.

Keith’s Illusion:Huh? I can’t understand a thing you are saying with you covering your face.

Keith shakes Illusion’s hand off  his shoulder before raising his head. He turned and stared at Illusion before standing up and walking over to his couch. Illusion takes a seat where Keith was sitting.

Keith: I don’t have time for your bullshit today. I have too much on my mind. So do me a favor and leave me alone

Keith’s Illusion: *Laughs Hysterically* I know I haven’t made an appearance in sometime, but nigga I’m with you 24/7. We are the same person. Matter of fact I’m a figment of your imagination that your trauma induced brain conjured up. So all the shit on your mind was placed there by yours truly , you’re welcome.

Keith:..

Keith’s Illusion: So you’re doing this immature shit and ignoring me. That’s cool I’m not the one with all the past mistakes and missed opportunities playing on repeat like a TV marathon in my head. You don’t have anyone to unload all those thoughts that’s why your phone is on the floor across the room. Listen Keith the honest truth is nobody cares about the problems of thirty-one year old male. I mean you can go to therapy, but you have more trust issues than a kid with a stranger. So you are stuck with this consistent cycle of thoughts that will eventually be the cause of you playing in traffic on Roosevelt Boulevard.

Keith: You think you are an evil genius huh? You think repeating a phrase in my head is going to be the cause of me off myself?  Listening to you telling me things I already know is a waste of time, and not enough for me to want to take myself out.

Keith’s Illusion:*Laughs* So answer me this. You are ok with your phone not ringing or text coming  from a friend sharing inside jokes and shit? Are you ok with going weeks without that phone ringing while you sit in this sad ass apartment by yourself? There’s not enough Netflix Prime video, youtube, or video games in this world to keep you sane. You are going to lose it one day and it’s going to result in you offing yourself, or walking out this door and offing the first person you see then killing yourself because you need to.

Keith: My mental state is great…

Illusion falls to the ground laughing hysterically. As he rolls back and forth Keith stares at him with a look of absolute rage. Illusion stands up and sits back down.

Keith’s Illusion: You are fucking hilarious and a fucking lier. If your mental state was so great I wouldn’t be here dickhead. I’m a product of the fact you need medical professional help, and you needed it ten years ago. I can care less if you get help, because torturing you is fun as hell for me. So here tie this belt to that pipe and then around your neck I’ll set up the chair for you.

Keith stands up and slowly walks over to Illusion talking to him.

Keith: You think you’re funny? Well you not, and you need to stay out of my head and out of my life. I’m not a pussy so taking the easy way out is out of the picture you piece of shit. Now get the fuck (Keith grips illusion up by coller and pins him to the wall) OUTTA HERE!!

Keith Illusion: The funny part about it is when you die it’s gonna be by yourself and they won’t find your body three weeks afterward. You’re going to be alone. Shit your family and those you call friends won’t even notice you are gone or even care. You are pathetic mine as well end it now.

Keith screams at Illusion who he still has hemmed up on the wall. He throws him to the ground and jumps up coming down knee first aiming for his chest. As soon as Keith landed he realized Illusion was gone and his knee connected with the floor which caused him to roll over in pain clenching at his knee. Suddenly Keith begins to hear the phrase “Nobody Cares” once again playing over and over in his head.
