Keith Hates Keith (At Work)

It is half way through a very slow day at work for Keith, and he is sitting in front of a computer which is in sleep mode. Using the reflection in the screen Keith noticed some barbecue  sauce on his cheek from a sandwich he just got done eating. Keith grabs a napkin out his desk to clean the sauce off his face. When he looked back at the reflection in the screen of the computer it was waving at him causing Keith to jump violently shaking his desk catching the attention of his co worker Lisa.

Lisa: The hell? You ok dude?

Keith: (Feeling Embarrassed) Yeah I almost knocked my phone off my desk.

Lisa: Sounds like you almost knocked the desk over. (Turns around to face her computer) Got to be careful my boi.

Keith looks back at his computer and notices the evil grin of his reflection still staring at him. Keith wakes up his computer and he here’s a sound coming from his phone. He turned it over and noticed his reflection waving at him on the screen of his phone.

Keith: ( Trying to whisper) Mutha fucker

Lisa turns around with a confused look on her face. Keith is aware that Lisa is staring at him as he hangs his head low and puts his thumb and index finger on the bridge of his nose.

Lisa: You sure you ok? You totally look in distress right now.

Keith: ( Picks his head up and removes his hands from his face) Huh? I’m good. Just a package I needed today got delayed until tomorrow, that’s all.

Lisa: (Turns back around) Well calm down it’s not that big of a deal.

Keith stared at the back of Lisa’s head with a frustrated look on his face before getting up and going to the single person bathroom that is in his building at work. Keith rushes into the bathroom when he gets there. He closes the door and locks it before turning the light of the bathroom on. As the bathroom light comes on Keith sees his reflection waving at him as he slowly walks over to the mirror.

Keith’s Reflection: Hey there buddy.

Keith: (Slams hands on the end of the sink) At my place of work? Leave me alone. I want nothing to do with you.

Keith’s Reflection: (Shrugs shoulder) So you have no choice. I’m here and I’m comfortable so I’m not going anywhere.

Keith: Why are you here? Why are you bothering me?

Keith’s Reflection: I’m here because of childhood trauma, and I’m bothering because of childhood trauma.

Keith: (Blank Stare)…

Keith’s Reflection: So?…

Keith: Shut the fuck up. You are not supposed to be here at all. So get the hell out of my head. I have a job to do and don’t have time for this.

Keith’s Reflection:Looking at the lack of work you have today tells me that you have all the time in the world. So why not use that time to talk to your worst enemy. Which so happened to be yourself.

Keith: ( Confused look on his face) You know how idoitic that sounds?

Keith’s Reflection: No Keith I don’t. Once again I’m a figment of your truma, I figured since you were just sitting there thinking to yourself  how much you hate yourself I come and taunt you. This seems like the perfect time to attempt to get you to end it at work.

Keith: Only thing it’s gonna get me to do at work is look crazy asshole.

Keith”s Reflection: (Laughs) Yeah you don’t need me for that. You are doing a good job of that already. (Begins to applaud Keith) (Keith gives his reflection the finger before turning around to leave the bathroom) Where you going? I’m not done telling you that your life is pointless, and all your attempts  to make it better are futile.

Keith has the door of the bathroom crack when he turns around to scream at his reflection.

Keith: (Yelling) SHUT THE FUCK UP!

At this point the door is open enough for Keith to go through. When Keith turns around to exit the bathroom he is startled by the sight of Lisa who was about to knock on the door.

Lisa: Um,  there is nobody in there. Also I was standing out there for a while and heard you talking to yourself.

Keith: I was on the phone.

Lisa: Then where is your phone?

Keith: Right here (Keith reaches into his pocket when he notice his phone wasn’t in his pocket his eyes begin to shift back and forth)

Lisa: Yeah it’s on your desk.

Keith: Mind your business. (Keith walked past Lisa and went back to his desk to finish his day off.
