*Phone Ring*
Frank: *agitated* Man pick up the phone already.
Gary: Yo Frank what up bro.
Frank: *Depressed* Man I need to tell you something. Do you have time to talk?
Gary: *Concern* Yeah bro what’s going on?
Frank: I can’t take it no more bro.
Gary: Take what anymore?
Frank: My life it’s too much right now bro. I can’t handle it.
Gary: Bro what’s going on? Explain
Frank: *Starting to cry* well remember I told you I got laid off a month ago?
Gary: Yeah
Frank: Well I was doing alright with keeping up with my rent and bills with my savings but my both my roommates just moved out without giving me noticed and since my name on the lease I can’t move or break it until next year. My unemployment didn’t kick in yet but that’s not going to be enough to live off here by myself. My car motor is blown and I don’t have money to fix that. My baby mom hitting me up for child support even though I’m in my child’s life buying clothes and spending time with him every week. My mom in the hospital sick not knowing if she going to make it or not. My brother nowhere to be found and we been calling him for a week now and we know he alive because my sister got a hold of his wife. Bro I’m so close to calling it quits bro to stop this pain.
Gary: * sympathetic* Bro you can’t think like that. You can’t allow these few setbacks to throw you off into a pit of depression. Look at all the good in your life bro. You got your masters in computer science, I know you can find a job real quick. Don’t let that lost of job make you feel defeated. I understand you been with the company 6 years but remember your skills can take you to a better job.
Frank:*Worried* it took me forever to find the first job though.
Gary: but the second job is going to come faster because of the experience you have. Your a smart and bright guy never forget that. You need to speak up more bro too. Look I’ll help pay the early termination fee for the lease move in with me and my wife until you get back on your feet.
Frank: I can’t do that too you bro.
Gary: Bro it’s not a bother I have a huge basement finish too I can make room for you.
Also I help get your car fix. Just pay me back when you get the chance. Continue to do what you doing for your child. As hard as it is dealing with your baby mother don’t let it hinder the relationship with the kid. Bro don’t call it quits though. Your life is hard because you trying to do everything by yourself without trusting God. When the last time you prayed?
Frank: *Feeling convicted* I don’t remember bro.
Gary: Our strength comes from the Lord bro you can’t go through life without going to the Father. You can’t keep things bottled up inside. Bro I love you stay strong. Look bro I’m going come over in a little and I’m gonna pray for you and we gonna talk about how everything is going to work out.
Frank: Thanks bro I’m starting to feel better already.
Gary: No prob bro.
